Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy

A deep compression massage delivered with the massage therapist’s bare feet using overhead bars for balance and support. It has been described as ‘The deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet.’ This technique is great for people who prefer deep massage. The foot is broad and allows the therapist to provide a deeper smoother massage than can be done with the thumbs, hands, or elbows. It is particularly effective for muscles of the lower back, gluts, hamstrings and shoulders.

Cupping Therapy - * New *

Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy which gained more recognition through athletes such as Michael Phelps at the 2016 olympics. Cupping is used to treat chronic pain, headaches, fibromyalgia and improves range of motion. Practitioners attach glass or silicone cups to the skin and through suction draw the skin and tissue up into the cup. This increases blood circulation in the area and promotes the repair and recovery process to help reduce inflammation.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

A technique which manipulates soft tissue of the body (muscles, tendons and connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system. NMT is a very effective therapy for nerve compression (e.g. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) and biomechanical dysfunctions (e.g. poor lifting habits, bad mechanics in golf swing or tennis stroke).

Hot Stone Massage

The heat from warm stones creates profound relaxation. The warmth penetrates the muscle fiber, softens it allows the muscle to release tension more efficiently and quickly. The broad pressure of the stones makes deeper work less intense for the client to receive, allowing greater results to be achieved during each session. Especially nice in the cold winter months.

Orthopedic Massage (Neck)

Orthopedic Massage helps return joints to their normal range of motion and reduce pain from joint movement. Orthopedic (Neck) Massage is beneficial for treating whiplash, thoracic outlet syndrome, disc pathology, ligament sprains and muscle strains of the neck.

Ashi-Thai Therapy

Ashi-Thai is a western style of Traditional Thai massage that involves streatching and compressing the muscles throughout the session. It is particularly effective for all types of athletic injuries as well as work-related injuries that reduce range of motion. Many clients with sports injuries experience better flexibility after treatment than before they were injured. Ashi-Thai is performed on a massage table with the client wearing loose clothing and no massage oil or cream is used.

Reflexology Massage

Reflexology is a therapeutic treatment applied to the feet and hands. It is believed that there are reflex areas on the hands and feet corresponding to all parts of the body including the major organs. Stimulating these reflex areas can affect internal organs and promote good health. Reflexology has been shown to be effective for back pain. migraines, improving circulation, digestive problems, fighting a fever, and stress reduction.

Sports Massage

A special form of massage typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injury.

Deep Tissue Massage

This type of massage releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body. ‘Deep’ does not mean all the work is using strong pressure, but that it is accessing the deeper tissues of your body structure. If you have a specific area of tension that you need focused, sustained work on, this is the type of work you want.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is a form of massage which originated in India and then migrated to Thailand. It involves gentle stretching movements which provide a unique experience which is both relaxing and energizing. Thai massage can greatly improve flexibility and improve the elasticity of joints, which is lost as we age. Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor, with the client wearing loose fitting clothes and no massage oil is used.

Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic massage utilizes a very light pressure combined with soft pumping movements to help lymph flow through the lymph vessels of your Lymphatic System. Immune system functions can be significantly increased, improving metabolism and helping the body to eliminate wastes and toxins. As with most massages, it is vital to drink plenty of water after a lymphatic massage to flush away toxins that have been released.

Cranial Sacral Massage

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle non-intrusive massage. It enhances the body’s natural healing processes to improve the operation of central nervous system disorders, dissipate the negative effects of stress, enhance health, and strengthen resistance to disease. This massage is performed on a table and you will remain fully clothed.

Prenatal (Pregnancy) Massage

A gentle massage designed to help address lower back pain, shoulder stress, swelling and balance issues common with pregnancy. Studies have shown massage therapy can reduce cortisol levels, back and leg pain, obstetric complications, and premature birth rates. Please obtain written approval from your physician before making an appointment.

Myofascial Massage

Massage technique which stretches and releases the fascia tissue, a continuous web-like sheath covering muscles and organs, to release restrictions due to previous injuries, which can cause severe pain. Myofascial release can help neck and pack pain, headaches and recurring sports injuries.

Sabi (Thai) Herbal Ball Massage

Thai Herbal Ball Massage is a method of treatment combining heat compress, massage and aromatherapy. A cloth ball filled with traditional Thai herbs is steamed and then applied directly to the skin to provide a therapeutic, relaxing and invigorating effect on the body and mind. This massage technique is excellent for relief of stiff, sore or strained muscles and ligaments, back pain, arthritis, chronic pain, migraines and chronic stress or anxiety.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy massage combines the benefits of massage therapy and essential oils. Essential oils are high concentrated plant oils that are added to the massage oil. The essential oils are inhaled or absorbed into the skin and can provide many therapeutic benefits including easing aches, pains and injuries. Aromatherapy also acts on the central nervous system, relieving depression and anxiety, reducing stress, relaxing or stimulating to restore both physical and emotional well-being.
